I’m Thankful for a Faith That Didn’t Give Up on Me

There was a time in my life when I walked away from my faith.

Not all at once, and not without reason—but I stepped back. I questioned. I wandered. I tried to figure things out on my own. For a while, I convinced myself I had moved on.

But the truth is, my faith never gave up on me.

I Didn’t Lose Faith — I Lost My Way

Looking back now, I don’t think I ever stopped believing in God. I just stopped trusting Him with my life.

I tried to carry everything myself.
I tried to make sense of pain, mistakes, and disappointment without leaning on God.
And for a season, I stayed distant—from church, from Scripture, and from the steady presence I once knew.

Still, God remained.

Even when I wasn’t listening.
Even when I wasn’t praying.
Even when I wasn’t sure where I stood.

Grace That Waited, Not Rushed

What I’m most thankful for now is that God didn’t rush me back or shame me for leaving.

He waited.

He let me wrestle.
He let me question.
He let me learn the hard way that distance from Him never brought peace.

And when I was ready—really ready—He welcomed me back without hesitation.

No lectures.
No condemnation.
Just grace.

Faith That Grew Through the Struggle

My faith today isn’t the same as it was before.

It’s quieter.
More grounded.
Less reactive.

It’s been shaped by recovery, honesty, boundaries, and humility. It’s been strengthened by learning to do the next right thing instead of trying to fix everything at once.

I don’t need to have all the answers anymore.
I just need to stay connected.

Faith isn’t proven by never falling away—it’s proven by returning.

Thankful for What Remained

I’m thankful that even when I let go, God never did.

I’m thankful for the people who prayed for me when I couldn’t pray for myself.
I’m thankful for the quiet moments where God reminded me I was still His.
I’m thankful for the chance to rebuild—not from guilt, but from grace.

Faith didn’t abandon me in my worst moments. It carried me through them.

Still Here, Still Believing

I don’t take my faith lightly anymore.
I show up differently now.
I listen more.
I move slower.
I trust deeper.

And I’m grateful—deeply grateful—for a faith that was patient with me, steady through my wandering, and strong enough to welcome me home.
