“Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.”
— Leviticus 20:7
Reflection
Leviticus doesn’t get much love. A lot of people see it as nothing but rules, laws, and restrictions. But when you slow down and really read it, you start to see God’s heart behind it.
This verse isn’t about perfection. It’s about direction.
God isn’t saying, “Get your life perfect and then come to Me.” He’s saying, “Set yourself apart, because I’m with you.”
Holiness isn’t about being better than others. It’s about choosing to live differently because God has changed you. For me, that looks like doing the next right thing—even when it’s hard, even when no one notices.
Consecration means intention. It means waking up and saying, “God, today belongs to You.”
Not flawless obedience. Not religious performance. Just a willing heart and a steady step forward.
And the beautiful part? God doesn’t ask us to be holy on our own strength. He reminds us why it’s possible:
“For I am the Lord your God.”
He’s present. He’s involved. He’s walking with us through the process.
Takeaway
Holiness isn’t about having it all together. It’s about being set apart with purpose.
One decision.
One moment.
One day at a time.
Prayer
Lord,
Help me live with intention today.
Set my heart apart for You, not out of fear, but out of love.
Teach me to walk in obedience one step at a time, trusting that You are with me.
Amen.
